| Charlotte was allowed to leave the classroom at hometime again today. This time she sneaked out of the door (I think) and went and sat in a wendy house. The teacher looks for us parents, calls out the child's name and the child leaves the classroom. Mine appears to have sneaked out with someone else. I THINK. I don't know though...the wendy house is in Reception's Outside Play Area which is fenced off, but the gate is open so the children can get out! I didn't even see her. M's mummy told me she was out.... How much more of this is going to happen before she gets hurt/abducted/lost....? They have stopped escorting her out to me and this happens almost straight away. ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!! | |

| Maybe you could arrange to pick her up a few minutes earlier than the other children are picked up & that way she couldn't get out with another child. It seems to me you have a very smart child on your hands!! Houdini!! xx | |

| Bloddy hell is this school a joke or what, why have they suddenly stoped escorting her after all your concerns. Have you got it in writing from the head whay action plans they have in place from last time, cause I would go back to the head and ask why they have gone back on it and make a formal complaint this time. It's your childs safety at the end of the day and they have a duty of care x | |

| This is completely unacceptable unfortunately it happens all to often. Dd managed to escape even with her one-one very close by, people who care for her now must get so sick of me going over and over to watch her literally every second, but I have to because I know what dd is like. You need to keep a record of when this happens, is she home for the summer now? The LEA will more then likely be on summer hols aswell now but it could be worth emailing them expressing your concerns (though you might not hear anything untill September). Will she have a new class teacher in September? You will need to set the ground rules from day one when she goes back in September, that she needs to either be sat near the teacher untill you arrive or another member of staff needs to take responsibility for her untill you arrive. Take care xxx | |

| I have some emails from the Head, but they are very non-commital which from my point of view is good, as it shows that they aren't doing what they should be!
Yes, she will have the same teacher next year. A happy accident, as she likes this teacher (she replaced the original one who called C "selfish" when she couldn't cope with being outside), but she really doesn't seem to understand that C can and will escape.
The Head leaves at the end of term (Wednesday) and a new deputy starts in September along with 2 interim heads (until Jan 2008 when new head starts). Again, this is good for me, I think, as it means that I can tell them where they've gone wrong and give them the opportunity to get it right this time.
I have a contact within the LA who has an interest in ASD children, so I will email her when she gets back from her holidays and see what she thinks I should do.
It's just so worrying, I need to know she's safe and she's not!
I was thinking about picking her up early, so now that Grandma has said it too I will put it to them!! | |

| I was gonna say get in touch with your lea but you already have. Hmm this is getting beyond a joke now if they know she will escape then they should be keeping a close eye on her. | |

| It's Sports Day today, and Charlotte will not be going!
I cannot trust them to keep her safe, as the school would be full of parents and you know how it is, we can't take our eye off them for 1 second! All she has to do is dodge behind a tall (and everybody seems to be tall!) person and I've lost her!
We are going to go and find something else to do today. It's not like she's missing much as school finishes at 1pm anyway.....
Roll on the holidays | |
