ok we were in the library before and we saw another kid with autism who we know.
Anyways my Son asked his Grandma what was wrong with him. She replied he has Autism its an sickness. I said to my Son he thinks the same way as you do but he has a lot less speech.
I really couldnt believe it when she described Autism as an sickness though.

Explain it to her gently cos it's difficult for anyone who doesn't have the full facts to really understand how to explain autism.
I'm in a mix race marriage with the same man since 1977 and my Mum still says 'coloured' rather than 'black'! No matter how many times I tell her 'black' is more acceptable than 'coloured'! Bless her! xx

Yes well the grandma in question will probly be around her 50's or so.
I guess shes thinking the old fashioned way then. No offence to you Grandma.
