What help & support do you get?

Hi guys

I was wonderding what help & support u all get for ur children and your family?

I have struggled for so long and i am finally getting some help for me & T, this is from SS.

I got nothing until April this year, after T was assessed out of my local area.

OK....Well, financially I get Carer's Allowance and DLA.

I have a solo meeting with CAMHS at the end of May, which I can't attend as it's at half term, to try and find some new ways of managing C at home.

I get invited to school meetings with SALT and CAS (got the hang of most of the initials now!), but that is solely to help C at school.

I'm most excited about our local Autistic school organising 6 sessions with us mums with ASD kids at our school so we can go chat and learn about ASD's and (most importantly) actually meet each other! C's head teacher said that there were 14 ASD kids at C's school, so it should be interesting to say the least!

I get no support for being her mummy though. I'm learning as I go along.

This site has helped me more in the last month since I joined than I have had since C's diagnosis....

Nice to know that we are all helping eachother with support and advice To be honest i would be lost if i wasnt online, i have found parents/carers online my main support for 14 months now and for a long while before that i thought i was alone with a child like my T.
