Have to admitt this is a stage Im dreading but Ive already started to prepare her for it. She knows all about the wonderfull time of the month us woman have, Ive done his through symbols and social stories, some might think Ive introduced this far to early but it can take dd years to learn what other children learn in a week. Weve also been teaching her about private and public places, eg bedroom and bathroom are private (she has private PECS symbols on her bedroom and the bathroom door) but living room, kitchen etc are for everyone, Im hoping this will help her understand about privacy as she gets older. Shes far to young for anything more than this at the moment but its a start and I know she understands about periods etc so it wont come as a shock to her when she starts but unfortunately the one thing I carnt prepare her for are the hormones that come with them.
