Hi guys
Well i went to visit the other school in our area and i was quite suprised!
The receptionist who took details to enroll T thought T had ADHD & Dyspraxia on first impressions, wow i have never had anyone say anything straight up to me like that b4! I said to her oh so u can tell he has special needs then? yes she said and he seems very intelligent with it but they need that channeling! A woman after my own heart!
I explained about home/sch diary and she said yes that is a very good idea and it helps for all to know what is happening if he doesnt make his anxieties known in school and to the staff, again im in shock!!!!
The school has many children with SEN and the support they all have is by getting a statement, i advised the Head that we are in the process of this and i realise for the help to be allocated a statement is a must.
So as the Head said they have no funding for support for T in sch as it stands now but he is going to see how they can best support him and he starts on Monday next week so they can prepare for him!
Ok its not the sch i hoped T to attend but like i told the receptionist this is the first time anyone has pointed out my son clearly has a condition and the support they have in place within the sch is great! They have quiet rooms for them who get too much overload and big body balls for them to roll about on. Also the library is available for children who find it hard being in the playground at playtimes and its supervised with board games to play.
So all in all i am very suprised at how well this visit went & heres hoping things get better for T and he can have an education to suit his needs
