Hi guys

Well as u know T has a Pragmatic Language Impairment (confirmed by a specialist SaLT & another independent SaLT who do not know eachother) and my LA are not recognizing Ts SaLT difficutlies, much to my despair! Mad

So i thought ok i will have to go down the route of seeking him an independent SaLT just so he has a chance of getting therapy sooner rather than later. After trawling the net i found one in my town and she rung me back the other night, we had a really good chat (i had emailed the SaLT report so she knew Ts difficulties).

She explained that she is so chocker at the mo that she cannot take anymore clients on at this present time, in further discussion (she is shocked T has had no form of help) she asked me whether i had made a referral to the NHS clinic in my town. Well i never knew i could as i was under the impression that school would need to do this for him to receive therapy. She informed me that i could refer T myself and i should do it the next morning.

I rung the clinic, they said they would send me the form out and that it would be approx 4 wks for him to see a therapist Smile

I got the form today and ive just finished filling it in along with sending his last IEP (they r requesting it) his SaLT assessment and his Nottingham report (the author actually being a specialist SaLT aswel as a Psychologist).

All the information they will recieve with my application form will im sure be enough to make them realise T is in desperate need of SaLT intervention.

off to pop it in the post now and hopefully they will have T on their system by the end of the week, onwards and forwards eh!
