| Well my little fella is doing really well but I have my concerns, I dont think theres any signs of autism, promised myself I wouldnt be winding myself up looking but carnt help myself. My concern is that he shouts at people for attention and sticks out his bottom lip if he dosent get it, he does this to dd and she sometimes says hello but needs prompting so he can be yelling away and she will be oblivious. Im concerend he will grow up thinking that this is normal and copy as he gets older, not responding etc, Im also concerend he would copy other behaviours. Am I being completely paranoid here? he is still only 5 months old afterall. Having said that carnt put my dd down, she is doing so well with ds and interacting in her own way which involves hugs (when shes in the mood) and passes him toys then takes them off him again she also tolerates alot from him which I didnt think she would, my attention, tones from toys she has sensory problems with etc. All in all having ds is prob the best thing we could have done for dd shes starting to realise that others have needs aswell | |

| Hmm.....I am no expert here, but I would imagine that you are always going to get some copied behaviour, aren't you?
I got absolutely no answers at all!
I have a question though......
How on earth did he get to be 5 months old, already??????

| There must be a time machine round here somewhere! As far as the copying thing goes, C is currently showing some interesting Asperger's traits which she has copied from her best friend who copied it from his elder brother! I guess we just have to accept it and KNOW that it is copied and TRY and deal with it! | |

| I agree with mum2c that you're certain to get some copied behaviour but I also think that you will interact differently with the little one as the responses will be different & kids are smarter than we give them credit for!!
You are right to look out for certain traits cos you will be better equipped to see and deal with problems as they arise.
Sounds to me like you have a lovely, loving family enviroment and no child could ask for more.
You're doing a fantastic job and I think you are a very brave lady!! xx

| I'd just like to echo Grandma here...you are one brave bunny!
I flatly refused to have another child because C's PDA is so intrusive and the attention she craves utterly would be taken away from her in her eyes.
Hats off to you Misty! | |

| Your doing a fab job hun and never, ever forget that! I got sterilised when T was 1.5 yrs, i knew he was different & i knew he was gonna be hard work at that young age seriously, i said to myself i could not cope with a younger child and T, even tho Ts dad wanted to try for a girl and i wanted a girl desperately but i knew i didnt want anymore children. You are brave hun, raising children full stop is not easy for any parent, we have no handbook and we do the best we can and u are doing that so never doubt urself or ur parenting ok? Thinking of ya | |
